How to Use Lexapro
Simple 10 mg/day starting dose for all patients. Take Lexapro once every day. It may be taken with or without food, in the morning or evening. Lexapro Side Effects
Lexapro is well tolerated by most people. The most commonly reported side effects of Lexapro are nausea, insomnia, problems with ejaculation, drowsiness, increased sweating, and fatigue. Most of the side effects experienced by patients taking Lexapro are mild and go away with continued treatment, and usually do not cause patients to stop taking Lexapro.

Lexapro Precautions
Lexapro can be taken with most other medications except another family of antidepressants called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Lexapro and MAOIs should not be taken together or within 14 days of each other.

Before you begin taking Lexapro, make sure to tell your healthcare provider if you are taking any other medications, including over-the-counter medications, herbal remedies, diet supplements, etc.

Lexapro Substance Interactions
Certain medications taken with this product could result in serious, even fatal, medication interactions. Avoid taking MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within 2 weeks before or after treatment with Lexapro. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for additional information. Lexapro is not recommended for use with: weight loss medications (e.g., sibutramine, phentermine). Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your doctor of all and non medication you may use, especially: other SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline), nefazodone, trazodone, tramadol, venlafaxine, “triptan” migraine medications (e.g., sumatriptan, zolmitriptan), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, nortriptyline), cimetidine, lithium, itraconazole, macrolide antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin), any herbal/ natural products (e.g., melatonin, St John’s wort, ayahuasca). Tell your doctor if you take any medications that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti- anxiety medications (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine), anti-seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Lexapro Notes
Do not share Lexapro with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.

Lexapro Missed Dosage
If you do miss a dose of Lexapro, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Lexapro Storage
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from heat and direct light. Do not store the capsule or tablet form of this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Heat or moisture may cause the medicine to break down. Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of the reach of children
